Today, I introduce Japanese culture. I wish you become interested in about it.

Studio Ghibli, Inc. is a Japanese animation film studio. The company’s logo is TOTORO which character of Hayao Miyazaki’s film My Neighbor Totoro. The name Ghibli derives from the Libyan word for hot wind blowing through the Sahara Desert, which is derived from nickname of Italian plane in World WarⅡ. Studio Ghibli created many films have won several award including Laputa in 1986, My Neighbor Totoro in 1988 and Kiki’s delivery Service in 1989. In 2002, Sprinted Away won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature. It’s the first anime film to win an Academy Award. The most famous film is Grave of the Fireflies directed by Isao Takahata.　Founded in 1985, the studio is headed by director Hayao Miyazaki along with his faithful companion Isao Takahata as well as the studio’s executive managing director and long-time producer Toshio Suzuki. The company is well-known for its strict "no-edits" policy in licensing their films abroad. This was a result of the dubbing of Miyazaki's Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind when the film was released in the United States as Warriors of the Wind.

New Zealand

Hi! Long time no see! How have you been? Have you decided your plan in winter vacation yet? If you are not, why don’t you go to New Zealand? Let me introduce Lake Taupo that is famous lake in New Zealand.

Lake Taupo is located in the North Island of New Zealand. The Lake is 616 square kilometres,that's about the same size as Singapore! Water activities take place in the lake all year round, including water-skiing, parasailing, jet skiing, fishing, cruising, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, and landing in it by float-plane! There are 47 rivers and streams feeding into Lake Taupo, and just one outlet—the Waikato River, New Zealand's longest river.

Let's compare Lake Taupo with Lake Biwa which is the biggest lake in japan.

Lake Taupo was created by a volcanic eruption. Almost everywhere you look there are volcanoes. The volcanoes of the Taupo Volcanic Zone created our environment.
Lake Taupo and the Tongariro National Park offers many rewarding and memorable visitor attractions for you to choose from. The Lake offers plenty of fun activities - swimming, fishing and boat cruises. Another recommended attraction is to Kayak or boat to the Maori Rock Carvings at Mine Bay. Standing 10 metres tall and only accessible by boat, the carvings are trully impressive and a great way to enjoy a sunny day on the Lake.

Festivals

Today, I'm going to talk about a fall festivals! I introduce"Thanksgiving Day". Thanksgiving Day in America is a time to offer thanks, of family gatherings and holiday meals. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November. The American traditions of Thanksgiving revolve around a huge and lavish meal, usually with Turkey as the centerpiece. For those who do not like Turkey, a Roast or Prime Rib is common. As tradition has it in most families, a special prayer of thanks precedes the meal. In many homes, family members will each mention something they are very thankful for. Thanksgiving is a time for families to create traditions and memories that last a lifetime.

Movies

Today, I introduce my favorite movie. I'm watching movies and DVDs, 3 or 4 titles in a week! To be honest, I am a movieaholic! My favorite movie is "Finding Never land". This is a story about J.M. Barrie's friendship with a family who inspired him to create Peter Pan. I'm not sure how many times I've watched. This movie is very emotive.

Everyone knows the story of Peter Pan, the boy who refused to grow up, the Darling children and their adventure to Never land, with Tinkerbell and the nefarious Captain Hook. But how many know the story of J.M. Barrie. The main actor is Johnny Depp, he play the part of J.M.Barrie. He is a Scottish writer. It was opening night of J.M. Barrie’s latest play at the Duke of York’s Theatre and the audience is restless. Barrie retreats to London’s Kensington Gardens where he finds amusement and a spark from his St. Bernard, Porthos. It is here that he first time to meet Sylvia Llewelyn Davies (Kate Winslet) and her four boys – Peter, George, Jack, and Michael. Almost instantly, they form a unique friendship – one based on kindness, laughter, and imagination. But that friendship is met with resistance from the boys’ grandmother, Emma du Maurier (Julie Christie), and Barrie’s own wife, Mary (Radha Mitchell) but Barrie continues to play games with Sylvia and the boys. Emma also seeks to control her daughter and grandsons, especially as Sylvia becomes increasingly weak from an unidentified illness. Barrie arranges to have an abridged production of it performed in her home because Sylvia is too ill to attend the production. After a few days she dies shortly, and Barrie finds that her will, it was written that please look after my boys.
